My brother comes to visit us every year and this year he was able to come twice! And at the same time that Melissa visited. We hadn't all been together for two years.

Matthew (Matt to everyone else) and I are close. We talk a lot on the phone and stay connected. He came out for my mom's surgery and then came again to have fun. The thing that I love about him is how generous he is. He works two jobs and is trying to learn all he can so he can be a great chef - turns out when you are learning, you don't get paid all that much. But he comes to visit and he just cooks for us. He pampers us. He does the dishes. He helps with the kids. He is just awesome!! It is always so good to have that time with him. Not just to be pampered, but to be able to see the great man that he has become.

We were able to go to the gardens and barn at Thanksgiving Point, Park City, and Bridal Veil Falls. In between all of those things, he made gourmet food for us at every meal. We played in the yard and the kids loved having their cousins, aunt Melissa, and uncle Matthew around.

Melissa works hard to be a great mom and we were able to spend some time together while Matthew pampered us. We were able to talk without worrying about the kids because they were keeping each other company. She is thoughtful in her own right and tries to be as helpful as she can. The thing I love about her is her lack of guile. She appreciates people for who they are and doesn't want to hurt anyone. We get to have her and the cousins around for a couple more weeks. We're looking forward to it.
